FAQ: TACK - Titanium Credit Card Size Knife Tool For Your Wallet

How do I combine rewards?

Since Kickstarter will only allow you to choose one reward tier, if you want to select more than one reward you can simply add them together. If you wanted reward tier 1, but also wanted to add reward tier 2, then you would add the two together (Example: $39 + $45 = $84) and pledge the total amount to one of the tiers. At the end of the campaign we will send out a survey, which will allow you to let us know which two items you wanted.

How do I select my color choices, etc?

At the end of the campaign we will send out Backer Surveys, which will ask for your shipping information, color choices, add-on choices, etc. You do not have to worry about this now. Simply select the reward you want now and all the other information will be collected at the end.

Which Colors Are Available?

Standard Titanium TACK will be available in: Natural, Blue, Purple, Bronze, Flame Anodized, or Satin Black. Satin Black can be added as an option at the end of the campaign for $5.00.

The TACK Royale limited edition will be available with black carbon fiber on the front side and natural finish on the back side (cutting edge side). We cannot offer anodizing on this model due to the carbon fiber interfering with the electrical anodizing process. We may, however, offer another carbon fiber color option as a stretch goal. Stay tuned.

Why titanium?

We chose titanium because it’s an ultra light weight material that is twice as strong as its equivalent in steel at half the weight. Titanium is also rust and corrosion proof and being that it will be living in a wallet, it was the obvious choice. Titanium can be an excellent knife material if treated properly with tungsten carbide on its edge. The tungsten carbide increases edge hardness and deposits finely serrated teeth, which are excellent for cutting.

When will my items ship?

Rewards will ship on or before May 15, 2018. We’re working hard to deliver ahead of deadline and this is just a conservative estimate for shipping.

International Shipping Fees

The United States Post Office changed their shipping policies for 2018. They no longer allow us to ship rewards in a flat envelope, which was originally only $12.00. The new policy states that flat shipping envelopes can only be used for documents. We must now ship all rewards in a bubble mailer, which increases shipping fees to $15 per parcel for packages under 8oz and $24 for packages 8oz-16oz.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
